Alan D. Wheeler, "Itchy" , age 63, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2019, after a tremendous fight with pancreatic cancer. He leaves the love of his life, Kathie (Jurczyk-Cloutier) who will be surrounded by his love, in the home he built for them with his heart & soul, his children, Paul (Rosa) Wheeler and Kelly (Chris Allard) Wheeler, his brothers, David (Linda), Duane (Nicole) and Donny all of Ware, Rick (Kate) of Newport, RI, his sisters, Gayle Suzor of Bondsville and Lisa (Brian) Czupryna of Ware, his grandchildren: Isaac, Mariah, Jaedon, Andreia, Sydney & Summer, his step-children, Molly Cloutier (Josh Warren), Alicia Cloutier, and Zack Cloutier & his fiance Nikki Durand, his aunt Leora & uncle Jim Meurisse, Diane Wheeler and many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Judith (Leveille) and David Wheeler. Alan was a General Contractor for over 20 years, building homes for many people, always having a faithful 4 legged companion with him. He retired from Eagle Hill School in 2018, where he was employed for maintenance. He'll best be remembered as a quiet, gentle soul, and for the Dune Buggy he drove for many years around town. Alan was a lifetime member of the Hardwick Rod & Gun Club, previously serving on the Board of Directors, a lifetime member of the NRA, a former member of the Chicopee Sportsman's Club and a member of Norwattuck Fish & Game Skeet Club. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4 - 7 PM in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South St., Ware. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 1 PM in St. Mary's Church, 60 South St., Ware. Everyone will meet directly in the church on Friday afternoon. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ware. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of his love for animals, donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
