Alice Barbara Konicki, age 88, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Orchard Valley at Wilbraham. Alice was born on June 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Malanek) Konicki. She was raised and educated in Ware, and graduated from Ware High School in 1950. Alice enlisted in the United States Navy on August 14, 1951 and received an Honorable Discharge on January 1, 1955, with the rank of Disbursing Clerk Second Class. She was employed for 20 years for the Central Intelligence Agency, in Langley, Mc Lean, Virginia. Alice was a long-time resident of Alexandria, Virginia, before returning to Massachusetts and resided in Monson for 10 years before moving to Orchard Valley at Wilbraham last year. She was a faithful, devout Roman Catholic, who prayed the rosary daily and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ware. Alice will be lovingly remembered as a woman who lived a very full and interesting life, she loved trips to the casino, she loved cross word puzzles, and good books. Alice leaves behind her last living sister, Patricia Sullivan of Monson, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 60 South Street, Ware, MA. A Calling Hour will be held on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South Street, Ware. Interment with Naval Honors will follow the funeral mass in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ware.
