Ann Motyka Obituary

Ann M. (Cebula) Motyka, age 85, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.  Ann was born in Ware on January 25, 1939, a daughter of the late Joseph A. Cebula and Mary (Zuchara) Cebula.  She was raised and educated in Ware, a proud graduate of the former St. Mary's School in Ware, a 1957 graduate of Ware High School and attended classes at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield. Ann lived most of her life in Ware, with the exception of years spent with her husband and family in Alaska.  She was employed in Alaska as a Sales Manager at a local retail store.  Ann was employed by the former Mary Lane Hospital in Ware for many years as a phlebotomist and as a EKG technician.  She had a deep faith in God and prayed daily, faith carried her through her life and many losses.  Ann was a member of St. Mary's Church in Ware, and was a past president of its former Ladies Guild.  She is survived by her children; son, Thomas Motyka and his wife Denise, daughter, Laurie Ann Wilkinson and her husband Brant, daughter, Tammy Ann Carver, and her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Ann also leaves behind her sole surviving sibling, her brother, Joseph Cebula and his wife Dorothy. Sadly, Ann was predeceased by her husband, John E. Motyka in 2017, her son, John J. Motyka in 2018, her son, Joseph J. Motyka in 2021, her granddaughter, Brittni Ann Motyka in 2022, her parents, Joseph in 1986, Mary in 1970, her brother, John "Jackie" Cebula in 1947 and her sister, Jean Allen in 2022. A Funeral Mass will be offered for Ann on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, 57 South St., Ware.  Inurnment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ware.  There are no calling hours.  Funeral services are under the direction of the Koziol Family of Cebula Funeral Home, Ware.  For more information and an online guestbook, please visit:  www.cebulafuneralhome.com
