Anne L. (Swindlehurst) Kupiec, 92, of Ware, passed away on January 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at home. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Cheryl A. Kupiec, and her soulmate Hart Halvorsen; her granddaughters: Lisa Hershowitz, and her husband Steve; Holly Bonilla, and her husband Alex; Christy Kupiec-Fox; and her grandson, Matthew Jenks and his fiancée Montana Duval. She also leaves her seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Evan, Grace Hershowitz, Tyler, Andrew, Demitri Bonilla and Owen Kupiec-Fox; her sister, Marion Norton of Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Michael J. Kupiec; by her beloved sons, Michael J. Kupiec, and Edward J. Kupiec; and by her siblings, James Swindlehurst, Elizabeth Sweeney, Shirley Morrissette, Edward Harhausen, Isabell Veaudry, and William Connor. She was born in Melrose, daughter of the late James L. and Viola B. (Dunlop) Swindlehurst. Anne was truly a jack of all trades. She worked for Zero Corp. in Monson as a machine operator for many years. She was mechanically inclined and could always be found fixing things – everything from microwaves to car transmissions. She met her husband Michael while waitressing in a restaurant – He was a truck driver for Coca Cola at the time, and their meeting blossomed into a relationship that would create several new beautiful lifetimes. Anne always lived life to the fullest. In the late 1940’s and early 1950’s she enjoyed stock car racing and even won several Powder Puff Derbies in Worcester, MA. She was an avid bingo player at St. Mary’s in Ware, at Highland Village, and the Senior Center in Ware. Anne could often be found catching up with friends at the round table at McDonalds. She was a card shark and would play anytime she got the chance. Anne loved to travel to the beach, trips with the Senior Center of Gilbertville, and road trips with her daughter. She would join her family on trips to Disney, even into her late 70’s; riding roller coasters with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was always up for an adventure. Family was the most important thing to her. She never missed an opportunity to cheer on her great grandchildren. She was filled with pride watching her family grow and witnessing their accomplishments. We will all miss her ability to make everyone laugh, her adventurous spirit, and the immense amount of love that she gave to all she knew. A Calling Hour for Anne will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 1 - 2 PM at Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South Street, Ware. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home. Burial with Prayers of Committal will take place in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Ware following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s memory may be made to the Ware Fire Department Ambulance Service, 200 West Street, Ware, Massachusetts 01082.
