Dad peacefully joined his beloved wife, Estelle on February 17, 2025. He was the son of Louis and Anna Butcher from Hungary-Austria and the youngest of eleven children. He grew up in Palmer, MA and met his wife while skating at Forest Lake. They were married for almost 65 years. He served in the Navy twice, but was not allowed to ship out, because seven brothers were already overseas. After coming home in 1952, he owned a garage in Palmer, mostly servicing the town highway vehicles. He sold the garage to have better financial stability for his family and worked at Diamond International until his retirement. While working full time, he also read water meters for the town of Ware and cut trees for the Brown Brothers in Belchertown. He never really "retired" until he was 82. He loved taking walks with Mom and working on home projects together. He was a loyal avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and enjoyed telling them what they did wrong. Dad was an active and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, serving many years as Grand Knight, District Deputy, and State Deputy. He took great pride in being an usher for Our Lady of Mount Carmel and later All Saints Church, serving as the bell ringer for All Saints in his later years. We will miss him dearly but are comforted knowing he is with Mom. He leaves his son Stephen (Maureen), Daughter Cheryl (Donald), and Susan, his caregiver. He also leaves his sister-in-law Jean Fargnoli and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11AM in All Saints Church, 7 North Street, Ware. Interment will take place this spring in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ware at the convenience of Arthur's family. Funeral services are under the direction of Cebula Funeral Home.
