Barbara Ann (Balon) Jones

Barbara A. Jones, 76, of Ware, MA passed away suddenly at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by family on October 24, 2025. Barbara was born in Ware on May 14th, 1949, daughter of the late Anthony and Cecelia (Zuchara) Balon. She graduated from Ware High School in 1967 and went on to Worcester State College to pursue a 4-year bachelor's degree in education. Barbara started in the Ware public school system and later worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Sanderson Macleod in Palmer until she retired at age 65.  Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially weekly dinners with her granddaughter, vacations in Maine, and casino trips with her daughter. Later in life, Barbara developed a love for reading fictional novels and could often be found sitting in her rocking chair with a good book and a glass of wine.  Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, including her husband Wayne of 53 years; her daughter Robin; her son Joshua and his wife Nicole; and her granddaughter Emily. Barbara also leaves behind two sisters, Annia Sauter and her husband, Jim of Enfield, CT; Tina Kaczuwka and her partner Ray of Warren, MA; nieces and nephews; many extended family members, and long-time friend Suzanne (Letourneau) Higney.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8th, at St. Mary’s Church in Ware, with a Funeral Mass at 10am. A guest book to sign and memorial photos will be available for viewing prior to the mass at 9:30. The family will also host a reception immediately following.
