Betty Roslyn Sutton
1924 - 2026
Ware - Betty Roslyn (Beres) Sutton, age 101, passed away peacefully at her residence in Cedarbrook Village of Ware, on Easter Sunday. Betty was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on October 22, 1924, to Hungarian Immigrants, the late Joseph Beresh and Rose (Onda) Beresh. She was raised, educated and resided in Norwalk, Connecticut. Betty was a two-year resident on Cedarbrook in Ware. She was the loving wife of the late William Rooney Sutton, who died suddenly in 1975 at the age of 53. After the sudden death of William, and being the mother of five children, Betty became a Real Estate Agent and worked in Real Estate in Connecticut for many years prior to retirement. She will be remembered as the strong, loving, witty, happy and caring matriarch of her family. She was the epitome of the Greatest Generation. Betty was a founding member of the Shore & Country Club. She loved spending her summers playing tennis (which she played into her late 80's), volunteering as a timer for swim meets, and playing bridge with her buddies at the pool. She adored all flora and fauna and spent endless hours in her yard. She had the uncanny ability to befriend, name and care for all types of backyard species. Betty's laughter could be heard wherever she happened to be and her joy and love touched everyone she encountered. Betty leaves behind her daughters, Cheryl S. Adams and her husband Lawrence, Elizabeth J. "Jodi" Sutton and her husband William St. Clair, Tracey A. Sutton and Suzanne B. Sutton. Betty also leaves her daughter-in-law, Noreen Sutton. She also leaves her 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Sadly, besides her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her only son, James Dennis "Denny" Sutton in 2016, and her siblings Albert Beres and Barbara Milko. The world is a better place because of Betty Sutton. Cremation will take place in Springfield Cemetery & Crematory. Inurnment will take place at the convenience of her family in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk, CT. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date to allow Betty's family and friends from all over the country to participate and share. Cebula Funeral Home of Ware, Massachusetts is in charge of the local arrangements. For more information and an online guest book, please visit: www.cebulafuneralhome.com .
