Cecilia G. (Teczar) Desjardins, age 103, entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 6th 2019 at Wingate at Wilbraham, after a long and full life. She was born in Ware on November 22nd 1915, 8th of 13 children of the late Edward and Louise (Teczar), but resided in the Gilbertville section of Hardwick for 32 years before moving back to Ware in 1968. Cecilia graduated from Ware High School in 1934. She was employed as a clerk at the Gilbertville Post Office for twelve years before retiring in 1963. She was a communicant & former lector of St. Mary's Church in Ware and was a member of its choir and former Ladies Guild. She volunteered countless hours of service preparing Polish Food in the Polish Kitchen for St. Mary's Annual Carnival. Cecilia was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan, known for her cooking and baking skills, she will be remembered by many as "a hot ticket", and will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. Cecilia is survived by two sons, Richard C. Desjardins and his wife Mary, and Donald E. Desjardins and his wife Jane, and a daughter, Barbara A. Seymour. She also leaves behind her last surviving sibling, sister, Elizabeth Shelton, five grand children: Chuck, Cindy, Lenny, Scott and Chris, six great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and eleven siblings, she was predeceased by a grandson, Joey. Last but not least, Cecilia leaves behind her much loved grand-pup Mia, who provided her with love and companionship. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10:30AM from the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South St., Ware. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, 60 South St., Ware. Cecilia will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery following the funeral mass. A Calling Period will be held on Wednesday morning from 9 - 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.
