Denis Martineau Obituary

Ware - Denis Lucien Martineau, age 61, passed away on Saturday August 10th, 2024. Denis was born in Palmer, Massachusetts on December 21st, 1962. He was a son of the late Lucien Rene Martineau and Lucille Rosalia (Roy) Martineau. Denis was employed at the former Granary Restaurant in Ware for many years until they closed. Denis was an easy going, kind, and loving person. He always put his family and friends first before anything else. His hobbies consisted of fishing, playing cards, and scratching tickets since he believed he would "win big "one day. A memorable moment that is shared was back in Denis' younger years, he used to love going to his aunt and uncle's house to play poker. When he lost all his money during this game, he would use match sticks. Denis solely enjoyed being around his loved ones, he was always the kind of person to make everyone smile. His favorite time of the year was around the holidays, he had a love for Christmas since his mother "Lucille" would always make that a special and heartwarming time for everyone. Denis will never be forgotten and will always reside in his friends and families' hearts. He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ware. Denis is survived by his siblings Richard Martineau, Norman Martineau and his life partner Linda, Marlene Vachula and her husband David, Linda Ciejka and her husband Richard, and Francis Martineau. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews that he cared deeply about. Sadly, he was predeceased by his mother Lucille in 2023, his father Lucien in 2016, his sister Sylvia Bressette in 2018, his brother-in-law Anthony Bressette in 2020, and his nephew Christopher Bressette in 2005. Cremation will take place in Springfield Cemetery & Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. There are no calling hours.  Cebula Funeral Home of Ware is assisting Denis' family with the final arrangements.
