Edward Charles Pelis, age 76, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday morning, January 13, 2023 in the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke. Edward was born in Ware, Massachusetts on September 19, 1946, son of the late Edward W. Pelis and Antonina V. (Midura) Pelis. He was raised and educated in Ware, a graduate of Ware High School, Class of 1964, and was also a graduate of STCC in Springfield. Edward enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 11, 1966 and was Honorably Discharged on August 10, 1970 with the rank of Sergeant. He was stationed at the former Hamilton Air Force Base, Novato, in Marin County, California. Ed served with the 1st Supply Squadron. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Air and Space Commendation Medal. Edward was employed by Edaron, LLC in Holyoke as a production manager for many years prior to his retiring. He volunteered his talents as a cook for the Ware Senior Center, he enjoyed golfing and playing pool. Edward leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Sheila M. Reynolds of Ware. Sheila wishes to extend her heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers, nurses, medical staff and employees of the Holyoke Soldiers' Home for their compassionate and loving care given to Edward during his stay there. Cremation will take place in Springfield Cemetery and Crematory. Edward will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at the convenience of his wife.
