With deep respect and heavy hearts, the family of Edward Joseph "EJ" Lubelczyk announces his peaceful passing on August 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Ware, MA, on August 21, 1940, EJ's formative years on the family farm laid a strong foundation for a life characterized by hard work and service to his community. His dedication to public welfare was evident through his roles with the Hardwick DPW and his early service in the Fire and Police Departments. His commitment to agriculture continued with his work for The Hardwick Farmers Co-Op, where he was known for his skilled application of lime and fertilizer to farms throughout the state. He had a knack for mowing steep hillsides and places no one dared to drive a tractor and maintained the flood control damns throughout the state for years. He also maintained many properties for towns scattered throughout the state. Predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Pauline (Zielinski) Lubelczyk, his brother John, and his son Jim Harrington. EJ's memory is lovingly honored by his wife, Julia; his children, Fran Harrington & partner Aileen Kelley Flamand, Mandi & Rich Souza, and Joseph; and his cherished grandchildren, Anna Harrington, Morgan Souza & fiancé Hayden Richter, and Zain Harrington. EJ also leaves behind his brothers, sister, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and he will be missed deeply by everyone. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 4 - 7 PM in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South St., Ware. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in St Aloysius Church, 64 Church St., Gilbertville. Everyone will meet directly in the church on Wednesday morning.
