Elaine Patricia Wdowiak
1938 - 2025
Ware - Elaine (Riendeau) Wdowiak, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, after a long period of declining health. She was born in Ware on May 10, 1938, daughter of the late Rene and Mary (Szczepanek) Riendeau. Elaine was raised and educated in Ware, a graduate of Ware High School class of 1956. It was during a high school football hayride that she met the love of her life, Ronald Wdowiak, and they were married on Thanksgiving Day November 26, 1959. Elaine leaves her husband, Ronnie; her daughter Cheryl (Kenneth) of West Brookfield, her sons Gary (Greg Rodnicki) of Ocala, Florida, and Bruce (Dorota Bolaske) of Ware. She was a devoted Grammy to seven grandchildren: Andrew Wdowiak, Harlie Wdowiak, Travis Prouty, Bryce Wdowiak, Evona Bolaske, Adam Bolaske, Ania Bolaske and two great-grandchildren; Weston and Aubrey Wdowiak. She also leaves behind Leslie Wdowiak, two step-granddaughters, Nicole Chalke and Danielle Pfahler and four step-great grandchildren: Reagan, Autumn, Frank and Fred, and a brother, David Riendeau of Arizona. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Roger Riendeau. After graduating from high school, Elaine attended Wilfred Beauty Academy in New York City and then joined her Aunt Flo working at Rose's Beauty Shop in Ware. She was also employed at the Ware IGA, Belchertown/Monson Developmental Centers and Country Bank (Three Rivers Branch). When Elaine left the workforce, she and Ronnie joined forces to run their own "daycare" for three of their grandchildren, often stating that it was the best and most rewarding job they had. Elaine enjoyed traveling and cruising, enjoying trips to Sanibel, Aruba, Alaska and the National Parks to name a few. Her favorite vacations were the yearly trips to Maine with Ronnie, her children and grandchildren, where they enjoyed the beach; playing soccer, wiffle ball and cornhole; and searching for sea glass. Elaine took immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, hosting holidays and family celebrations. She made everyone that she met feel like family. It was time spent with family and friends that brought her the most pleasure in life. The family invites all who knew and loved Elaine to Celebrate Her Life. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 4 - 6 pm in Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South St., Ware.
