Ware - Francis Joseph Nevue, age 86 of Ware, passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Francis, also known as “Frank” was born in Thorndike, Mass on September 19, 1935. Frank grew up in Thorndike and joined the United States Air Force during the Korean war. After leaving the service Frank began work at the Bondsville Mills where he met his future wife, Sheila (McGrath) Nevue. Frank and Sheila were married for over 53 years. Frank worked at Warren Pumps for 35 years as a machinist before retiring and starting a part-time position with Big Y where he made many friends and worked until he was 80 years old. Born to Stella (Demosloski) Nevue and Merrill Nevue, both from Thorndike, Francis was one of 13 brothers and sisters. He was pre-deceased by his parents, and brothers and sisters: Raymond, Robert, Ben, Patrick, Irene, Liz, Marion and Loretta.
Frank’s wife Sheila pre-deceased him in 2012. Frank leaves his sisters, Catherine (Kitty) and Teresa and his brothers, Walter and Charles. He leaves his son Thomas and his fiance Lynn Tyveglia and his grandchildren Thomas jr, Karrah, Michael, Aleigha, Shawna, Kyiah, Braedon and Zachary. His son Anthony and his wife Annette and their children Kyle and his partner Andrea Bugden and Adam and his wife Tiffany. Frank also leaves several great-grandchildren and has one more one the way.
Frank loved his New England sports teams and was an avid fan. He was a member of the Ware Housing Authority Board and enjoyed playing cards, taking rides and having lunches with his sister Catherine and his dear friend Pauline Forte. He also loved visiting the Ware and Warren Senior Center’s to play cards with friends. Frank was an active member of the Am-Vets of Ware and often marched in parades, visited the Holyoke Soldiers Home to help serve meals and play bingo and would attend Veterans services as part of the Honor Guard. Frank was a hard worker and should be remembered as being a loving family man and having an infectious smile who loved to laugh. Calling Hours for Frank will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 6 - 8 PM in Cebula Funeral Home, Ware. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 10 AM in All Saints Church, Ware. Burial with Military Honors will follow in New St. William Cemetery, Ware.
