Frederick Zulkiewicz Obituary

Frederick John Zulkiewicz, age 91, passed away on Monday morning, June 14, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  Fred was born in Ware on September 19, 1929, a son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Gill) Zulkiewicz.  He was raised and educated in Ware, and graduated from high school in 1947.  Fred enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 1, 1948 and faithfully served his country being Honorably Discharged on September 2, 1952 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was an Aerial photographer in the Air Force during the Korean War.   On October 23, 1954 he entered into Holy Matrimony with Mary Flora Baker, in St. Mary's Church in Ware.  Fred was employed for many years as a machinist for Cascades Diamond Inc. in Thorndike.  He was a proud Korean War  Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion.  Fred was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of almost 57 years, Mary Flora (Baker) Zulkiewicz, who passed away in 2011.  Sadly, Fred was the last of Joseph and Katherine's children, having been pre-deceased by all of his siblings.  Fred leaves behind his children, son Frederic J. Zulkiewicz and his wife Patricia, daughters, Lee-Ann Lovett and her husband James, and Jo-Ann Purcell and her husband Thomas.  Fred also leaves behind his grandchildren; Mark Zulkiewicz, Eric Zulkiewicz, Kilee Purcell and Sean Purcell.  A Military Graveside Service with Prayers of Committal will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Mary's Cemetery (St. Adalbert Section).  There are No Calling Hours.  Cebula Funeral Home of Ware was entrusted with the final arrangements.  For more information and online guest book, please visit:  www.cebulafuneralhome.com .
