Gerald (“Jerry”) Arthur Ernest, age 94 passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer. Jerry was born in Henniker, New Hampshire on May 12, 1930, son of the late William Ernest and Beatrice (Ring) Ernest. He was the husband of the late Carola (Muller) Ernest, who passed away in 1995. Jerry was a longtime resident of Worcester, Massachusetts, eventually moving to Brookfield. After the passing of his wife, Carola, he was blessed to have met Marjorie. He moved to Ware to be with Marge and the two spent the next 28 years caring for each other. Jerry loved Ware and the many friends he made there. After Marge’s passing, he moved to Cedarbrook Village in Ware. Jerry was employed for many years at The Wright Line in Worcester. He was a member of the Brookfield Congregational Church. Jerry was a proud United States Air Force Veteran and enjoyed sharing his experiences from his time in the service. He leaves behind his son, Larry T Ernest and his wife, Anne, his daughter, Linda Bourque and her husband, Dean, his half-sister, Stella Bent, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, and many family members in Nova Scotia, Germany and Switzerland. He also leaves two very special friends, Dolan and Tracie, who were like family to him. Jerry was pre-deceased by his brother, Ronald Ernest. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 1:30 pm in Brookfield Cemetery in Brookfield, MA. Pastor Brian Oxman will officiate. Air Force Military Honors will conclude the service. Funeral Services are under the direction of Cebula Funeral Home of Ware. There are no calling hours.
