James Arthur LaCroix, age 78 passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. James was born in Southbridge, Massachusetts on September 23, 1946, son of the late Arthur Henry LaCroix and Helen S. (Domian) LaCroix. He was raised and educated in Ware. James enlisted in the United States Army on November 15, 1965, and was Honorably Discharged on January 17, 1967, with the rank of SP4. He received the National Defense Service Medal (Vietnam), Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), and the Good Conduct Medal. On March 1, 1981, James re-enlisted in the United States Armed Forces, this time for the United States Air Force. He served 22 years and was Honorably Discharged on March 4, 2004, with the rank of Technical Sergeant. James was an Avionic Technician for the United States Air Force until his retirement. He was a member of All Saints Church in Ware. James leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Debra Rae (Porter) LaCroix, his daughter, Sarah LaCroix, Bobby LaCroix, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Towlson) LaCroix. Sadly, besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Michael LaCroix in 2021 and grandson, Jeremy Michael LaCroix in 2016. Cremation took place in Springfield Cemetery and Crematory. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1 PM in New St. Williams Cemetery. Cebula Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
