Jean E. (Cebula) Allen, passed away on Thursday evening, December 29, 2022, at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, two days prior to her 92nd birthday. Jean was born in Ware, Massachusetts on New Years Eve, December 31, 1930, to the late Joseph A. Cebula and Mary A. (Zuchara) Cebula. She was raised and educated in Ware and was a life-long resident of Ware. Jean attended the Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston. Her mother established the former Ware Flower Shop in 1950. Originally the flower shop was located on Main Street. Jean apprenticed flower arranging under the late Joseph S. Koziol, who operated Flowers by Jozef in Westfield. She joined her mother in business, and after her mother's passing in 1970, Jean took over the flower shop and moved it to South Street. Jean created beautiful flower arrangements for weddings, funerals, holidays and special occasions. She retired in 1986 after the death of her father. Jean was a warm and caring person. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. Jean leaves behind to mourn her passing, her only son, James J. Allen, her grandson, Joshua James Allen, her brother, Joseph Cebula and his wife Dot, and her sister, Ann Motyka. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews. Sadly, Jean was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, James W. Allen on March 28, 2008, and her beloved 11 year old brother, John R Cebula on May 28, 1947. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 11 AM until 12 Noon in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South St., Ware. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12 Noon with Fr. Piotr Pawlus presiding. Cremation took place in Springfield Cemetery & Crematory.
