Jennie “Jay” Kasperon of Chapel Street in West Warren, and formerly of Our Lady of Jasna Gora, Franklin St., Clinton, Mass. passed away on January 30th, 2022.
Jennie attended Warren Elementary School, and lived with her mother and father, Anna (Topor) and Joseph Kasperon in West Warren right behind St. Stanislaus Church.
Jennie leaves her sister, Helen J. Ksen from West Warren, nephew Kevin Ksen of Worcester, nieces Karen Ksen of West Warren, Denise Ksen-Smith and her husband Scott Smith of East Dennis, and a great nephew Matthew Smith.
At the age of 32, Jennie left West Warren to dedicate her life to the Polish-American Roman Catholic parish of Our Lady of Jasna Gora on Franklin St. in Clinton where she lived until her retirement in 1995. Living at the rectory, Jennie served as both housekeeper, chef, secretary and decorator in chief alongside long-time pastors Rev. Peter Samorajski and Rev. Joseph Szwach. Jennie followed in her mother’s footsteps serving as church sacristan at St. Stanislaus Parish after her retirement.
Jay’s family will miss the endless stream of Polish cooking she shared with everyone; babka, kluski, cheesecakes and krusiki. Jennie excelled at creating holiday keepsakes for family and friends, decorating the church and leading the annual parish bazaar with glue gun in hand. Her nieces and nephews remember her teaching them not only how to cook, bake and crochet, but also garden, hang wallpaper, upholster and do woodworking. Jay meant the world to her family, they will miss her deeply!
The family thanks and appreciates the dedication of all the staff at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center who cared for Jennie during her stay.
A private funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus is scheduled, with burial in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial offerings may be made in Jennie’s name to St. Stanislaus Church, P.O. Box 1027 Warren, MA 01083. The Koziol Family of Cebula Funeral Home is directing the final services for Jennie.
