Joan Marie (Hempel) Szewerenka

Joan M. (Hempel) Szewerenka, age 86, passed away at home on Monday evening, May 31, 2021.  Joan was born in Worcester on April 14, 1935, daughter of the late Carl and Mary Hempel.  She was employed for many years as a nurses aide at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.  Joan lived in Sutton, Massachusetts, prior to moving to Belchertown two years ago.  Joan leaves behind her beloved daughter, Theresa Szewerenka, with whom she lived,  a brother, John Hempel, and sister, Susanne Moore.  Cremation will take place in Springfield Cemetery and Crematory in Springfield.  There are no other services.  Cebula Funeral Home of Ware is assisting her daughter with the final arrangements.  For more information and online guest book, please visit: www.cebulafuneralhome.com .
