John Edward Kosla, age 47, passed away suddenly, on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center, Ware, after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was born in Ware, on August 7, 1971, son of Diann L. (Pierce) Kosla and the late Roland R. Kosla, who predeceased him in 2018. John graduated from Quabbin Regional High School, Barre in 1989. He was a part-time police officer for the Town of Hardwick Police Department and a Corrections Officer for the Worcester County House of Corrections. John was employed as a mold maker for the Palmer Foundry for several years. He was one of the founding members of the Weir River Dart League, a member of the Sons of the American Legion, the Hardwick Rod & Gun Club, played in the American Pool Players Association, and had been a member of the former Joseph Pilsudski Club of Gilbertville. John enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his mother and caregiver, Diann L. Kosla of Gilbertville, two sons, Trevor Kosla of Gilbertville, Dustin Kosla of North Brookfield and daughter, Danilyn Kosla of Worcester, his brother, Edward Kosla of Gilbertville, and nephew, Landon Kosla. He also leaves his long-time girlfriend and caregiver, Lori Thibeault of North Brookfield, and caregiver and life-long friend, Becky Savage. John also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. A Calling Period will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5 - 8 PM in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South St., Ware. Cremation will take place in Springfield Cemetery and Crematory.
