Joseph John Quink, Jr. Obituary

Joseph John Quink, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  Joe was born on July 9, 1938 in Ware, to the late Joseph John Quink, Sr., and Stella (Sierakowski) Quink.  He was raised and educated in Ware, and graduated from Ware High School in 1956.  Joe lived in Ware for most of his life, until relocating to Belchertown and spending winters in Florida.  On January 14, 1961 Joe entered into Holy Matrimony with Sandra Clark, and have been happily married for 63 years.  Joe was employed as the maintenance foreman for the Massachusetts State Police Academy in New Braintree.  He was a  communicant of All Saints Church in Ware.  Joe was known for his trumpet playing from a young age, and through his days in the Ware High School Band.  After his graduation, he formed his own band "The Rainbow Kings", he entertained crowds in the area until the early 1970's, when he retired from music.  One of his greatest accomplishments was the recording and release of an original album in 1962.   Joe enjoyed all of his family, following his children and grandchildren at their sporting events through the years, but he was most happy when it was just He & Sandy, quietly spending time with each other.   Joe leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra (Clark) Quink, his loving children; Deb Gagnon and her husband Chris of Ware, Stephen Quink and his wife Valerie of Sturbridge, and Diane Messier and her husband John of Ware.  Joe was the loving grandfather of six grandchildren:  Joseph Gratton and his wife Shannon, Randy Gratton and his wife Taylor, Erin Arnold and her husband Tom, Jack Messier and his fiancee Susan, Sam Quink and Andrew Quink.  He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Gratton, Xander Gratton, Andreina Gratton, James Gratton and Kobe Gratton, as well as his siblings, Phillip Quink of Big Piney, Wyoming and Janice Surprenant of Three Rivers, MA.  Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Stephan Quink, Frederick Quink and Irene (Quink) Fuller.  A Funeral Mass will be offered for Joe on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11 AM in All Saints Church, North Street, Ware.  Everyone will meet directly in the church.  There are no calling hours.  Burial will be private at the convenience of Joe's family.  Funeral Services are under the direction of Cebula Funeral Home.  For more information and an online guest book, please visit:  www.cebulafuneralhome.com .
