With her family by her side, Josephine H. Jurczyk, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019. She was born in Three Rivers, Massachusetts on August 12, 1928 to the late Joseph and Antonina (Milewski) Kowalczyk; her father dying a few months before she was born. She was a graduate of both St. Peter & Paul School and Palmer High School. She met Joseph M. Jurczyk from Ware and the wedding was planned for April of 1948. However, on the way to pick up the wedding cake, the couple and groomsman, Stanley Roj, were involved in a motor vehilce accident and the wedding was postponed until August 1, 1948. They resided in Ware and enjoyed 42 years of married life. Faith was very important to Josephine as was St. Mary's School and the Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception. She was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Rosary Sodality and St. Mary's Ladies Guild. She had been very invoved in the yearly cCarnival; in retirement she became a pierogi lady. Joseph worked at the Ware Knitters, Ware Shoe Shop and Lastly at Mary Lane Hospital in admitting - a job she truly enjoyed. Her bilingual skill - English and Polish - was used many times to help patients and their families. Josephine leaves her three daughters: Jane Saletnik, Lorraine Robidoux and her husband Michael, and Kathleen Wheeler. She also leaves behind her 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Mary Gruszczynski. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in 1990, three sons-in-law: Andre Cloutier, Gabriel Saletnik and Alan Wheeler, her two brothers: Joseph and Stanley Kowalczyk and her two sisters: Mary Brodeur and Janet Dunay. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 4 - 7 PM in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South Street, Ware, Massachusetts. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:30 AM in St. Mary's Church, 60 South St., Ware, Massachusetts. Burial will follow in the St. Adalbert Section of St. Mary's Cemetery in Ware.
