WARE – Julia “Alice” (Swierczek) Topor
Alice was born in Ware on March 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Orszulak) Swierczek. She lived most of her life in Ware, but more recently in Mansfield and Norton, MA. Alice graduated from Ware High School in 1940 and the former Northampton Commercial College in 1941. She worked for the former Rindge Corporation in Ware for several years, was a teacher’s aide at both the Ware elementary and middle schools, and lastly was a secretary at the former Belchertown State School where she worked for 13 years before retiring in 1986.  
Alice is survived by her daughter, Darlene Marks, of Mansfield, MA, and her three beloved grandsons:  Jordan, Travis, and Logan Marks. She also leaves her caregiver Christine Ward, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter S. Topor in 1985, her son-in-law, Joel Marks in 2019, and all her brothers and sisters.
 A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2020, which would have been Alice’s wedding anniversary, in St. Mary's Church, 60 South Street, Ware. A Calling Hour will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South Street, Ware. Burial will follow in New St. William's Cemetery in Ware. Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home capacity is limited due to state regulations.
