Lucille Rosalia (Roy) Martineau, age 82, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, January 21, 2023, in the love and comfort of her family. Lucille was born in the Quebec Province of Canada, in the town of Roxton Falls, on May 6, 1940. She was the daughter of M. Joseph Roy and Lydia (Lavoie) Roy. Lucille was raised and educated in Roxton Falls. At the age of 20 she moved to Massachusetts, first living in Springfield, Massachusetts and then residing in Ware, Massachusetts until her passing. Lucille was employed for many years at the former Silk Screen in Ware. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ware. She will be remembered for her warmth, love, smile and the hugs that she gave freely and often. Lucille's greatest pride was her family her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she loved to spend time with them. Christmas Eve was always held at her home, with her family. She loved her trips back to Canada to visit family and friends. Lucille was so grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff of Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, for the treatment she received throughout her illness. Lucille is survived by her children; sons, Francis Martineau, Denis Martineau, Norman Martineau and his life partner Linda, and Richard Martineau; her daughters, Marlene Vachula and her husband David, Linda Ciejka and her husband Richard. She leaves behind her siblings; Yvette Roy Granby, Marie Anna Gagne, and Lucien Roy and his wife Gisele Lapierre, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sadly, Lucille was pre-deceased by her beloved daughter, Sylvia Bressette in 2018, her son-in-law, Anthony Bressette in 2020, her grandson, Christopher Bressette in 2005, her former husband, Lucien Rene Martineau in 2016, and her siblings: Gerard Roy, Raymond Roy, Jean Guy Roy, Jeanne d'arc Cloutier, Normand Roy, and Paul Roy. Lucille's family wishes to thank Overlook Hospice for their help and care, and for the visits with Pastor John. A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 2 pm-3 pm in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South St.,Ware.
