Madeleine Agnes (Sorel) Cebula

Madeleine Agnes Cebula, age 92 passed away on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2024, at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.  Madeleine was born in Ware, the town she always loved, on February 14, 1932.  She was a daughter of the late Edmund and Lucia (Roy) Sorel.  Madeleine was a proud graduate of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Ware High School.  She was employed by the Town of Ware as the Town Accountant, a position she held for 21 years, prior to her retirement.  Madeleine was involved with many town activities, she was on the Ware Housing Authority, Ware Cemetery Commision.  She belonged to the Ware Senior Center, St. Mary's Church and a member of its former Ladies Guild. Madeleine enjoyed golfing, bowling, BINGO and going to the Casino.  She loved cows and light houses and collected figurine ornaments.  Madeleine leaves behind her children; her daughter, Roberta Lussier and her husband Mark, David Cebula, and Christopher Cebula and his wife Gwen, her daughter-in-law, Lori Cebula and granddaughter, Jennifer Chaput.  She also leaves behind her last two surviving siblings: her brother Edward Sorel and sister, Sylvia DeMaio.  Sadly, she was pre-deceased by her son, Michael Cebula, grandson, Daniel Cebula, and her siblings:  Roland, Raymond and Bernard Sorel, sisters, Cecile Chapdelaine, Rachel Sorel, Yvonne Vadnais, Lorraine Forgit and Claire Charbonneau.  Madeleine will be laid to rest with a graveside service on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11 AM in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Ware.  There are no calling hours.  Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Cebula Funeral Home, Ware.
