Michael “Mickey” Anthony Young, 61, passed away on February 21, 2026. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he was a longtime resident of Ware, Massachusetts, the town he loved and the community that loved him right back. Mickey had a deep-rooted passion for motorcycles and was a proud member of the Quaboag Riders Motorcycle Club and the New England Hillclimbers Association. Of all the miles he rode, his favorites were the weekend hill climbs, where he shared his love of racing with his son, Anthony. An entrepreneur at heart, Mickey built his life through hard work, grit, and determination. He was the proud owner of M.A. Young Trucking and Krismic Kustoms, a motorcycle shop where engines roared, friendships were built, and riders knew they could count on him. His hands told the story of decades of honest work, but it was his generosity that people will remember most. No matter how busy he was, he always made time to lend a hand, fix a bike, offer advice, or mentor young riders. To know Mickey was to know kindness in action. Eleven years ago, following a motorcycle accident and traumatic brain injury, doctors gave the family a timeline that proved no match for Mickey’s determination. True to who he was, he fought every single day to stay with the people he loved, facing each challenge with courage, humor, strength, and gratitude because he understood deeply how precious time truly is. Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kristine Young (Supczak); his children, Kym Fox and her husband TJ, Katie Young, Lisa Young, and Anthony Young; his cherished grandchildren, Michaela, Ellie, Madilyn, and Tucker, who lovingly called him “Popeye”; his brother, Eric Young; his beloved aunts, Jeri Vadnais and Carol Hutchinson; his mother-in-law, Joann Supczak; his brother-in-law, Michael Supczak; his best friend, Lou Supczak; his entire hill climbing family; Gary and Corie Buelow and everyone at APR; and countless other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman “Tony” Young and Judith Young; his nephew and godson, Jesse Supczak; and his father-in-law, Joseph Supczak Jr. The world feels quieter without his steady presence, but his legacy lives on in the lessons he shared, the engines he built, the kindness he showed, and the love he poured into his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family will share details once they are finalized, and all who knew and loved him will be warmly invited to gather, remember, and honor his memory. May he rest and ride in peace.
