Normand Theodore Mathieu, age 90, passed away at home on Monday, May 3, 2021, with his family by his side. Normand was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on January 25, 1931, son of the late Albert Ovila Mathieu and Noella (Chandonet) Mathieu. He was raised and educated in New Bedford and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University. Normand proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He enlisted on November 13, 1951 and was Honorably Discharged on November 12, 1955 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Normand was employed for 30 years (1962-1992) for Warren Pumps as a Sales Engineer. On November 22, 1956 in St. Joseph Church in New Bedford he entered into Holy Matrimony with Therese Cormier. Normand and Therese were married for 60 years, before Therese passed away on March 27, 2017. Normand was a long-time resident of Ware, prior to moving to West Brookfield in August of 2020. While a resident of Ware, Normand was a communicant of All Saints Church, and was currently a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in West Brookfield. Normand is survived by his loving daughter, Christine Widen and son-in-law Daniel. Loving grandchildren, Ryan Horner, Benjamin and Abigail Widen. Normand was predeceased by his brothers, Roger A. Mathieu, Leo H. Mathieu and Raymond A. Mathieu. All Services for Normand will be private.
