Richard Chipman Obituary

Richard “Chip” Chipman
 1957   -   2021
On the evening of July 16th, Chip, a loving husband and father, entered eternal life peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born February 14th 1957 in Medford MA to Willis F. Chipman & Marie S. (Masucci) Chipman, and has resided in Ware, Massachusetts for the last 30 years.  Chip was an exceptionally hard worker throughout his life. At a young age he began working  at the store his father managed. From there, Chip had various jobs before finding his calling in the graphic arts business. Chip went on to control his own destiny by starting a graphic design company, which he eventually sold to Kodak. This was a fitting reward for a career that was so well accomplished. Chip was known for his kind, loving, honorable & compassionate ways, his quick wit and zany humor. He enjoyed watching movies, spending time with his family at the beach house in NH, as well as hunting, fishing, boating and working on his cars. Chip died just like he lived: he wrote his own rules, he fought for what was right, he had a firm understanding of what was important and he paved his own way. He was also whip smart, being able to evaluate problems and solve them with his mind and his hands. Chip could fix anything! Chip’s  spirit will be carried on, lovingly remembered but sadly missed by his wife Cheri (Gurka) Chipman and his children Brian Chipman, Zackary Chipman and Logan Wojcik, his brother Stephen Chipman, sisters Deborah Shynk & Donna Vitale and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A Calling Period for family and friends will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9 AM - 12 Noon in the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South Street, in Ware, Massachusetts.  A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 12:30 PM in St. Mary's Church, 57 South Street, Ware, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, Chip would hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness in his memory for someone in need.
