Richard Clarence King, age 78 passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Richard was born in Ware, Massachusetts on October 15, 1946, son of the late Roland C. King and Beatrice V. (Smith) King. He was a 43-year resident of Chicopee. Richard was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He served for many years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve, and was Honorably Discharged with the Rank of Master Sergeant. Richard was employed by civil service for most of his life. He was a Fire Truck Mechanic and specialized in Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance at Westover Air Force Base. Richard was a talented "problem solver" and inventor. He was recognized for his abilities while at Westover. Richard leaves behind his heartbroken family, his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia M. (Hutchins) King, his children; Angela Christy Marie King, Daniel Richard Clarence King and his wife, Rachel (Winsky) King, Thomas Jay Nathanial King and his former wife, Cassandra (Burcie) King, and James Roger Allan King. He also leaves behind two grandchildren: Raven Willow King and Drake Carnell King, as well as his siblings: Ronald King, Christopher King, Russell King, and Denise Baran, and many nieces, nephews and relatives. Richard was predeceased by two brothers: David King and Bruce King. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 5 - 7 PM in Cebula Funeral Home, 66 South St., Ware, MA. Richard will be laid to rest on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne MA.
