Robert Trudeau Obituary

Robert F. Trudeau, 90, of Ware, MA and Daytona Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, with family by his side.

He leaves his daughter, Debra (Trudeau) Jurczyk of Ware, sons Robert J. Trudeau and his life partner Brad Hoisington of Daytona Beach, and David F. Trudeau and his wife Terry (Rogers) of Ware, five grandchildren:  Nicole (Jurczyk) Zajac and her husband Andrew, Kyle Jurczyk and his wife Shannon (Mahoney), Heath Hebert, Tobias Trudeau and his wife Lisa (Granlund), and Amanda (Trudeau) Robidoux and her husband James; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara (Finnerty) Trudeau, when she passed in 2018 after 58 years of marriage, son John I. Trudeau, son-in-law Francis Jurczyk, and siblings Mary K. LaFortune, Elizabeth “Betty” Gray, Nancy White, Alexander “Al”, Richard “Hank”, and John “Jake” Trudeau. He was born in Ware, the son of William Irvin and Ruth “Mamie” (Fitzpatrick) Trudeau.

Bob was born on April 8, 1933, in Ware, and attended Ware schools. He then joined the United States Navy, where he served as a Radioman 2nd Class in New York and Key West, FL, among other places, and spent six months on an icebreaker in the Arctic Circle. He retired as a Sergeant from the Ware Police Department, and also retired from the Monsanto Company of Indian Orchard. This enabled him to enjoy a long retirement with his wife, taking many trips and splitting their time between their homes in Ware and Daytona Beach. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, including the weekly “Pizza Nights”, frequent rides through the Quabbin Reservoir, camping with family and friends at the Hinsdale Campground at Thicket Hill in New Hampshire, Sunday drives to experience new places and events in New England; his almost daily visits to the Oasis Tiki Bar (family owned) for lunch, to hang out, and talk to Florida friends; going to the giant Flea Market, walking down to and hanging out at the Surf Shop, and driving the beach and taking in the sights in Daytona Beach.  Bob loved to talk to people wherever he went. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, and he did.

He was a communicant of All Saints Church in Ware, and Basilica of Saint Paul in Daytona Beach.

Bob was a great man who touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
