Ronald Chalue, Sr. Obituary

Wilbraham – Ronald Francis Chalue, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Monson on April 17, 1938, he was the loving son of the late Louis Joseph Skomro and Margaret M. (Shea) Chalue-Skomro. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting on June 24, 1955, and receiving his honorable discharge on August 4, 1958, with the rank of A/3C. He was stationed at Donaldson Air Force Base in Greenville, South Carolina, serving with the 63rd Supply Squadron.

For many years, Ron worked as a machine set-up operator at Milton Bradley Company. He lived in Monson for much of his life before settling in Wilbraham, where he and his wife built their home and community over the past 17 years.

Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy Ann (Hope) Chalue, his children and their spouses: Teena Smart, Ronald F. Chalue, Jr. and his partner, Alison Hill, Thomas (Carol) Smart, and Lisa (Mark) Moynahan.  Ron also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Joseph Skomro and sister, Carol Pascale.  Sadly, Ron was predeceased by his daughter Sharie Jenks, his grandson Shaun Charbonneau, his sister Mary Gouvin, and his brothers Arthur Chalue and Robert Chalue and his nephew, Joseph Skowyra.

An outdoor enthusiast, Ron enjoyed motorcycling with his son Ron Jr., snowmobiling in his younger years, and bicycling through the roads of Wilbraham. He was happiest when staying active and spending time outdoors, but above all, his greatest joy was his family and the time he shared with his grandchildren.
