Ronald J. Kowalski, age 95, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield. He was born in Ware on January 29, 1926, son of the late Stanley and Honora (Rybak) Kowalski and was a life-long resident. Ronald graduated from Ware High School in 1944. He was employed by the former Ware Knitters, Inc. for many years as a machine technician. He proudly served his country from March 21, 1944 to June 4, 1946 during World War II as a combat engineer in the United States Army. He traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Amelia (Koziol) Kowalski, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his two sisters, Irene D. Kowalski in 2003 and Isabella (Kowalski) Kalentek in 2015. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 with a Requiem Mass at 10 AM in the Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Ware. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church on Saturday morning. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the New St. William Cemetery, Ware. There are no calling hours.
